As the crane hirer, you are responsible for the crane as soon as it leaves the public highway. Under this arrangement, following the CPA Terms of Hire ( available at the bottom of this page ) you / and or your company must have the necessary ability and experience to plan/ supervise/ and carry out the lifts in accordance to Lifting Operations and Lifting Regulations 1998 (LOLER) – if you can not do any one of these, a contract lift will be a more suitable option for your needs.
As the hirer, you are responsible for ensuring the crane selected is the correct machine for your task. You are also required to hold the correct level of hired-in-plant insurance. We can offer technical advise and also supply relevant insurance, if required.
